goTenna ProX requires connecting to an End User Device (EUD) before it can be used. There are two ways to sign into the goTenna Application for iOS or Android
Online Login with Portal Credentials
This requires a portal administrator to log in to the organization account and create a new user.
Note: Newly created users must first accept the email invite sent once a new user is added to be provided access to the portal and goTenna Application.
Deploying Offline has a few options:
A User may connect to a goKit allowing applications and frequency sets to be pulled down to complete the setup process.
Via QR Code:
A user may also scan a QR code provided by a service user by manually inputting the information provided to tune the goTenna radio to the appropriate frequency set.
goTenna Pro/Pro X units use AES-256 encryption for Broadcast messages and require a key generation and sharing to enable. Anyone in the network can share and create frequencies without the need for special permissions.
1-to-1 Messages are encrypted by default using 384-bit elliptic curve encryption that is accomplished within the application without requiring user input.
Note: By default broadcast messages are unencrypted.
Creating and Sharing Encryption Keys
To create an encryption key: Navigate to the encryption menu by selecting “Encryption” from the main menu. Select the “+” icon to create or acquire a new encryption key.
To generate a new key: Select “Generate a new key”. Name your key. Please ensure that the key name selected is unique from your existing set of encryption keys. Select “Save”.
Note: Naming is important to ensure all users are using the same key.
To use this key: Toggle “Encrypt Broadcasts” on and select the encryption key you’d like to use.
To share this key: You may choose to either share your key via broadcast chat or via QR code. In order to send the key via broadcast chat, please ensure your team is tuned into the same frequency set.
